Abstract: This paper presents the results of an experiment to analyse the effect of pos-tagged data on reading comprehension. A total of 308 first and second year students at a Japanese engineering university participated in the experiment. The study produces preliminary evidence indicating that the use of POS-tags can cause a slight increase in student reading comprehension.
