English Abstract: The CALL laboratory offers many potential advantages and possibilities for the teaching of technical English. However, it also raises the danger of creating a barrier between the teacher and students and actually impeding learning. This paper looks at both sides and offers some potential ways forward to create a balanced learning environment.
